What is this project going to accomplish?

This project will repair and/or reconstruct failing pavement at the Sudbury Road Landfill entrance, the public drop off area, and the asphalt at the compost pad.  

Project Update

On January 25, 2023, six bids were received and opened for this project. The engineer’s estimate was $1.8 million and the low bidder was Nelson Construction Corp. with a bid in the amount of $1,689,185.97. The bid has been reviewed by staff and determined to be responsive and responsible. The bid was presented to Council for award on February 22, 2023.

The project is now substantially complete. The contractor is working on finishing minor punchlist items before the project is considered complete.

How will this project be funded?

The project is funded by Landfill tip fees.
